Today

I think Grey's 4 immunizations caught up with him today. He fell asleep at breakfast and again on the potty, then ran to the kitchen and barfed in the trash can. He is fever free, just lethargic and whiny. Now he is absorbed in giving monkey and woobie equal snuggle time on the futon. No school for him today, and I had to cancel my hair appointment and my Christmas shopping plan. Boo. At least it is a REALLY nice day outside, and I can tackle thinning my garden.
I let Cali and Grey plant the (second choice after the hail destroyed my first one) fall garden, thinking that it probably wouldn't come to much since it was so late. They planted beets and turnips and greens and garlic, but they used the toss-the-seeds method, so now I have a ton of turnips and greens sprouting so close together it looks like clover. They did a bit better on the beets (too small to see sprouting in the pic), but I will still have to thin like mad. I am also planning on planting my tulips this week, as they are almost done with their 6 week stint in the refrigerator, though I don't see how putting them in the 72 degree soil is going to be a good thing. I've never planted tulips before, so I guess we'll see how it goes. In the meantime, we are still eating eggplants, we have a nice batch of sage and rosemary to use in our Thanksgiving dinner, and we are eating lovely in season pomegranates from the farmer's market. Yum!

Oh, I wish we had a garden growing! I should probably attempt to grow some indoor herbs, but I always kill my houseplants. Outdoor gardens thrive under my care, but the things in containers die!

I hope you guys have a Happy Thanksgiving (I can't believe it is NEXT WEEK)! I hope Grey feels better soon, too - poor little guy! We don't have Nolan's well-child until December, even though his birthday was back in August. I don't look forward to the shots :(
